Rapids resident Gary Rex Erickson has been creating one-of-a-kind
jewelry since 1975. His art is more than a hobby. it's
a way of life. He says he simply loves to hand-pick his
stones, create a new design and work with his tools to
create a one of a kind piece of jewelry—whether
it’s a necklace, broach, earring or ring. All of
his pieces are set in sterling silver and he selects all
of the stones once a year in Tucson, Ariz. He likes to
find unique stones with different colors, texture and
sizes. "I don't cast, I fabricate everything. I make
it from scratch," he says. "I'm always trying
different things and experimenting with textures."
His favorite piece? “The next piece I'm working
on.” |
