Big Thanks to partners and sponsors of the 49th Park Point Art Fair
- Date 25 June 2019
It’s taken a major community effort for the Park Point Community Club to host this signature Duluth festival on the shores of Lake Superior over the past five decades.
So, major thanks are in order to the many dozens of volunteers and 150+ participating artists, musicians and food vendors who join us—but also to the organizations that are helping us make the 2019 Park Point Art Fair two brilliant days by the beach. Here’s a BIG shout too to our newest sponsors and those who’ve been partnering with us for the better part of a decade.
We want to thank The Duluth Art Institute (DAI), OMC Smokehouse and Hoops Brewing for sponsoring the PPAF Artists Dinner on Saturday, June 29. Getting an invite to this exclusive and inclusive dinner is easy: just volunteer for one of the many different jobs, such as making art with kids, greeting attendees or dumping garbage. How? Call Diane Gould of the PPAF Committee. 218-727-4067)
The dinner, held at The Beach House, features delicious food from OMC Smokehouse. OMC focuses on house-smoked barbecue using local ingredients. Hoop’s Brewing, a Canal Park neighbor celebrating its 2nd anniversary that same evening, is providing the beer. (Congrats to Hoops! Since our location at the end of the Point is so close by, there’s no reason to miss their Hoopla or the Art Fair .)
On Saturday and Sunday morning, our participating artists appreciate PPAF hospitality that includes a donut and coffee. And we appreciate Super One Foods’ support this year in helping supply that pastry power.
Of course we want to thank long time partners, the Reader, KUMD 103.3fm, Beaner’s Central and Solglimt Bed & Breakfast.
Check out our full page color poster in the Reader’s Summer Guide. (And keep an eye out for the Reader’s new sister organization, The West Theater.)
Listen in to KUMD for artist interviews on Northland Morning during Art Week and PPAF mentions during regular programming. (As a community club, we heart community radio.)
Beaners Central is back with two days of live music programming on the PPAF stage, including the excellent local sounds of bands like Woodblind, Ten Crow Moon, Minir Birds and rigadoo; as well as musicians such as Jacob Mahon, Jen West, Amy Tischer and more.
Need a place to stay while you’re here for the fair? Try Solglimt Bed and Breakfast. Right across the Aerial Lift Bridge on Park Point, it couldn’t be closer to the beach.
Two new sponsors, Wilderness Wellness Chiropractic and Heritage Window & Door, are working to provide an art and a wellness activity. Wilderness Wellness Chiropractor will be giving back massages at no cost and Heritage Window & Door will be offering a family drawing and art project.
Sponsorships help the Park Point Community Club enrich the meaning and the experience of the fair in a variety of ways. While attending the fair, look for a sponsor table or booth and say “hi.” And thank you for supporting the organizations that have supported us!
